#7: Gregor Gaisböck takes over operational management of the VEGRA Group

Since November 1, 2024, Mr. Gregor Gaisböck has been a new shareholder and is now also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the VEGRA Group. By assuming full operational responsibility, he is now actively initiating the next phase of the company’s development, with a clear focus on innovation, partnership, and sustainable growth.

His first stop in this new role took him to Vienna, to Print Fair 2025. There, VEGRA presented itself as a strong partner to the printing industry in an inspiring atmosphere, proving that experience, passion, and a forward-looking approach complement each other perfectly.

Special thanks go to Andreas Hintermayer, a valued partner in the industry, for his support and commitment, as well as to his daughter Alica, whose energy and presence greatly enriched the VEGRA exhibition stand.

Our recent trip to China in 2025 where we met our Chinese colleagues and partners. We visited our headquarters VEGRA Shanghai and our branch offices in Beijing and Xi’an.

Our history

VEGRA GmbH was founded in 1979 as a trading company. From 1982, the company produced its own fountain solution concentrates and printing aids on an area of approx. 1000 m² in Mühldorf am Inn. he manufacturing range was expanded to include dispersion coatings, cleaning agents and printing aids. In 1986 the production volume increased considerably and the current production capacities were reached. As a result, VEGRA purchased a piece of land in the industrial area of Aschau am Inn in 1987 and began planning and constructing new production and administration buildings.

In 1988 the new buildings were completed and production was moved from Mühldorf to Aschau. The production area was now approx. 4600 m², plus another approx. 1500 m² for laboratories and offices. In the same year, the company moved its headquarters to Aschau. Today we operate on more than 5600 m². Together with our subsidiary Vegra Shanghai, we are constantly working on innovative products for the graphic industry. In addition to coatings, we develop fountain solution concentrates, cleaning agents and printing aids – for our worldwide customers also regarding individual demands. Since 2023 Herbert Gelber is the managing director of Vegra and leads our company into the future.

What VEGRA does for our environment
– Recycling

We are actively committed to environmental protection in the pressroom. Our fountain solution concentraters and cleaning agents are VOC-free, FOGRA-tested and approved by the press manufacturers. We also offer water-based dispersion coatings that are approved for direct contact with food and tested by ISEGA.

Our recycling concept for Rapid Washes is an ecological way to optimize costs and actively protect the environment. By recycling, we add a significant contribution to the preservation of resources. All our recycled cleaners have the same properties as the original products. This applies, for example, to effectiveness and corrosion protection. The VEGRA recycling process saves disposal costs, reduces CO₂ emissions and is a recognized active contribution to environmental protection.
